COMPETITION INVITATION

1st INTERNATIONAL CHESS TOURNAMENT OF DIDIMOTEICHO "HOLY SPIRIT" (2199)

1. ORGANISERS : G.A.S. SPARTACUS DIDIMOTEICHON , E.S.S.A.M.TH.

2.  VENUE : The event will be held at HOTEL HERMES in Didimoteicho

3. PLAYING SYSTEM : The system of competitions will be six Swiss rounds .

5. SCHEDULE
Registrations against fee : Friday 06 June 2014: to - 17:00
Opening Ceremony & Communication draws : Friday 06 June 2014: 18:00 to 18:30

R1 06/06/2014 Start time : 19:00, R2 07/06/2014 Start time : 10:00, R3 07/06 Start time : 19:00, R4 08/06/2014 Start time : 10:00, R5 08/06/2014 Start time : 19:00, R6 09/06/2014 Start time : 09:30. Closure ceremony -awards - giving ceremony on Monday 09 June 2014 13:30. The Competition Directorship reserves the right to change the program .
6. TIME OF THOUGHT

The thinking time will be 60 minutes with additional 30" for each movement.

7. INITIAL CLASSIFICATION

Before the draw for the first round, participants are  ranked in order of A) the International ELO , B ) in alphabetical order of the Latin script .
8. FINAL STANDINGS

The final classification is determined according to their degrees /score/points.
In case of a tie, the following criteria apply for its removal:  1) Tournament Results Direct encounter /of those with the same score, 2) Buchholz, 3) Sonneborn – Berger, 4) Sum of progressive score .

PARTICIPATION TERMS-REGISTRATION  FEE -  - ​​ARRIVAL
After a symbolic fee is paid , participation right have all athletes, except those with international ELO rating higher than 2199. Defined fee membership rights:
20 euros for adults (over 20 years old), 10 euros for participants under 20 years of age .
10 euros for non-Greek participants adults ( over 20 years),  5 euros for non-Greek participants under 20 years of age.
9. PRIZES
Souvenir Prizes : The top three overall winners and the first woman will receive cups and medals will be awarded to the top three boys and the top three girls in Grades 18, 16, 14, 12, 10 and 8 years old.

Prizes : Total prize money amounts to € 1600 and shared as follows.

General Classification : 1st Winner € 300, 2nd Winner € 225, 3rd Winner € 175, 4th Winner € 100, 5th Winner € 75, 6th Winner € 50
Specific Categories :
- 1st Woman € 100, 2nd Woman € 75, 3rd Woman € 50.
- Veterans;  1st € 100, 2nd € 75, 3rd € 50 ( as veterans means participants over 60 years)
- For young people from 22 to 16 years: 1st Youth € 100, 2nd Youth € 75, 3rd  Youth € 50

12. ACCOMMODATION - MEALS - EVENTS

For your stay will be a strict order of priority enrollment.
a) Free accommodation to 40 people in a municipal hostel (recommended for bulk mail). b ) Accommodation in a 3 star hotel HERMES with bid price per night (including breakfast ) 35 € in single room , 45 € to 55 € double and a triple .
c ) Accommodation in a 1 star hotel ANESIS with bid price per night (included a coffee only ) 20 € in single room , 30 € to 40 € double and a triple .
To guarantee the above special conditions of residence and due to the limited number of beds , timely book is required which is set on 23 May 2014 .
For the  meals of the participants and accompanying persons special prices will be ensured at various restaurants in town ( discount on demonstration of the entry fee on  which companions will be indicated)
Travel free tour On Saturday and Sunday between 15:00 and 18:00 the participants and attendants can have a  free tour of the sights and attractions. Examples: Plotinoupoli sightseeing in the medieval castle , the castle of Pythian , the Bayezid Mosque , the municipal art gallery ,the local museum ,the military museum , the Byzantine churches , etc. For a small icon of our city visit  https://www.didymoteicho.gr/ 

Folk tradition On Saturday at 20:00 a parade of "Bagpipes Gaida players "is scheduled, that will come to the castle with primary open -night revelry with traditional food and booze .
